We are home owners!

The new house!

The cute little bell that was left, I'm guessing it's Portland (Maine) Headlight

My favorite part of the house, the kitchen!

So my husband and I bought a house! We closed in late August and are thrilled to be living in such a beautiful, well maintained house! This time last year, I had just moved to Maine with Elijah and by the end of October of last year we were engaged. Crazy how time flies and how much can change in a year.

I posted just a few photos, but more will follow.  The photos above were taken with my point and shoot camera, which doesn't have the best quality.  I will be posting more and I am in the process of taking photos with my SLR of our new home.

It's really easy to go crazy on Pinterest right now, especially with all this space to decorate! Also, as everyone is well aware, the holidays are coming up and Pinterest is a great site to get diy ideas, obviously.

Happy diy-ing!!

Lazy Sunday

Mmmmmm Apple Pie

Sweet cinnamon butter glaze!!
Have I got your attention!?

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!!

Just want you to know, I will be devoting more time to the blog once everything settles down for us; my posts will be more in depth than just a few sentences, I promise! Right now there are a few things that take precedence, like closing on our house and moving in!! The end of this week can't come soon enough for that reason!

I suppose I should explain why I've chosen to create a blog and write about my aspirations for it as that has yet to be addressed.

I decided to create a blog because

I can write about my love for photography, food, and everything that fascinates me.  Hence the tagline.

I needed yet another outlet to satisfy my creative side.

To try and gain a following so that I may potentially, possibly, maybe someday in the far future (also an aspiration) make a career out of being creative.

I like to find news and cute/funny/silly/inspirational/diy things and share them with people and thought this the perfect way to do so.  That way I am not bombarding people on Facebook with things if they don't want to see them, and if you do, you can come here!

My aspirations for the blog

To include writing, information, photographs and more in posts so that readers get the full variety of what the blog is about.

To get better at writing and researching about topics of all nature.

I like to know what your opinions are on the things that I post about and love reading replies!!

To post (mostly) everyday for readers and hope to gain repeat visitors such as you. Thank you for reading my blog! I can't stress that enough, having people read and comment on my posts means a great deal!

Side Note: All photos are taken by me unless noted.  I will always credit someone else's work.

Thank you thank you for reading!  More to follow...

Ohhh Fall is almost here!

So the first day of Autumn is tomorrow! I have been looking forward to the crisp fall air, baking apple pies, and making hard apple cider. What's your favorite part about Fall?! Check this almanac website out for facts on fall and more information about the changing of the seasons!

The photo above is of my sister on the deck of the house we were renting this past year.  The views are nice, but looking forward to moving into our new house next week!!! Eeeeek!!! What are your memories and pieces of advice of your experience buying a house for the first time? Exciting? Terrifying? Let me know! There are so many emotions to go along with buying your first house, but we are certainly looking forward to it!

Here's a yummy apple pie recipe to try after you've gone apple picking! Enjoy!

cabin in the woods

Windows windows! Took this a couple years ago in northern Maine

First Post!

This is my first post ever ever on this blog! I am very excited to start a new blog here and hope I interest you enough to keep coming back.  I recently got married and we about to close on a house next week, so things have been extremely busy lately, crazy in fact.

I had today off from work and packed a lot.  I have this ball of excitement inside of me that's growing bigger every day that it gets closer to the closing date and I cannot wait to move in to the new house!!! Photos will definitely follow after closing. I have creativity embedded into my being and have a need to take photographs, paint, bake, write, and decorate all the time, and when I don't I feel as if there is something missing.  Moving into a new house, our FIRST house!! is so overwhelming, yet we are both ecstatic about it and have grand ideas for the future.

The photo above was taken in New Hampshire while I was at a farm-to-table feast.  Not the best photo, but I love the light in it, and I like shooting into sunlight.  You will notice I shoot a lot with natural light, it's just my style.  Photography is definitely my favorite creative outlet, which if you visit again, you'll see more photos up on the blog.

Thanks so much for taking a peek around!!! Come back soon!
